At Poulton, we have developed a bespoke Geography curriculum that is carefully aligned with the National Curriculum and designed to inspire curiosity and fascination about the world and its people. Our curriculum makes strong links to our local area, which offers a rich geographical context and meaningful opportunities for pupils to explore geography in real and relevant ways.

Through our Geography teaching, pupils develop a secure understanding of both human and physical processes, alongside strong locational and place knowledge. There is a clear emphasis on using and applying geographical skills, including map work, data collection and fieldwork, enabling children to investigate, observe and interpret the world around them. Our approach encourages pupils to ask questions, make connections and develop a deeper understanding of how places and environments are shaped and changed over time.
