At Poulton-le-Sands, we place great importance on the pastoral care and wellbeing of every child and family within our school community. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and valued, and we are committed to promoting positive mental health, emotional resilience, and strong relationships.
We are proud to have a Pupil and Family Support Worker, Mrs Wheeler, who works closely with children, families, and staff to provide additional support when needed. Alongside this, our dedicated Wellbeing Team—Mrs Wheeler, Miss Buckham (Key Stage 2) and Mrs Lewis (Reception and Key Stage 1)—work together to ensure that pastoral support is accessible, consistent and tailored to the needs of our pupils.
This half term (Spring), we have also introduced a Wellbeing Team, made up of pupils from across the school, who will play an active role in promoting positive mental health, offering peer support and ensuring that all students feel safe, supported and listened to.
Whether support is needed for emotional wellbeing, friendships, behaviour or family circumstances, our team works in partnership with parents and carers to ensure every child feels listened to, cared for and ready to learn.
If you have any concerns or would like to discuss pastoral support, please contact the school office in confidence.
