Our Curriculum
Our EYFS curriculum is built around meaningful, first-hand experiences that place children at the heart of their learning. Through back-and-forth interactions, skilled adult role modelling and thoughtful scaffolding, children are supported to explore, question and deepen their understanding. Learning is enriched through visits, visitors and real-life experiences that bring the curriculum to life.
We place a strong emphasis on language development. Our planning is vocabulary-rich and carefully structured, with a focus on taught vocabulary, thematic language, word trees and a “Word Aware” approach. Weekly planning is designed to be fun, engaging and responsive to children’s interests and fascinations, ensuring high levels of motivation and curiosity.
Children learn through stimulating indoor and outdoor provision, making full use of our local environment. Adults support learning by making meaningful links to the local area and helping children connect new knowledge to what they already know. Our curriculum aims to be ambitious and challenging for all children, regardless of their starting points and supports them to build strong foundations of knowledge, skills and key vocabulary.
We prioritise “sticky learning” so that children know more and remember more, using floor books and adaptive teaching to reflect on, revisit and extend learning. Our curriculum is underpinned by progressive checkpoint documentation, including Birth to Five Matters, Development Matters and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, ensuring all learning is carefully planned, purposeful and well considered.

Indoor and Outdoor Learning
Indoor Learning
Our indoor learning environment is carefully planned and resourced to meet the developmental needs of all children. Resources are thoughtfully selected to enhance new learning while consolidating prior knowledge and skills. They are attractively presented and regularly adapted to reflect children’s interests, encouraging discovery, investigation and independent exploration. This enables children to engage deeply with their learning and make meaningful progress across all areas of development.
Outdoor Learning
Our outdoor provision is an integral part of daily learning and supports all areas of the EYFS curriculum. Continuous outdoor provision provides rich opportunities for children to demonstrate the three Characteristics of Effective Learning: playing and exploring, active learning and creating and thinking critically. Children are encouraged to make independent choices, become active learners and take increasing ownership of their learning.
Outdoor resources are carefully organised to promote collaboration, personal interaction and exploration. Provision is planned in response to children’s interests and identified learning gaps, ensuring experiences are purposeful, engaging and supportive of each child’s development.
